Role of Education in Controlling of Environmental Pollution

ABSTRACT:

Need of environmental education is the most essential part of present growing world the most burning part and subject' Need of environmental education has been always discussed in national and international seminars, workshops, conferences. Every where observed that environmental education is to help arouse social consciousness and make community aware of the fact that both harmed by ecological disorder, so many several important point could emerge from the deliberations of international, regional, national even local level to think high about the need of environmental education.

 

 


INTRODUCTION:

Environmental education is the new area in the discipline of education. The term environmental education is very latest but is has very ancient roots in our culture. Environmental education is a process of providing learning experience to obtain knowledge understanding, skills and awareness with desirable attitudinal change about man's relationship with his natural and manmade surrounding which includes the relation of population, pollution, resource allocation transportation technology and Urban and rural planning to the total human environment. Environmental education should be a continuous life long process beginning at the pre-school stage level and continuing through all formal and non formal stages and should be inter disciplinary discipline in making possible a holistic and balanced perspective.1

 

Developing Environmental Education : -

With recent development and advances environmental education is virtually a new source of concern for education its Teachers and students. The environmental education aims at developing in the child an awarness and understanding of the physical and social environment in its totality. Environmental education studies involve a child's investigation and systematic exploration of his own natural and social environment and prepare himself to solve the problems for improving his life. 

 

Environment education for sustainable development in Sweden and Denmark.

 

Environmental education can change and improve the quality of man's environment for desirable modification of his behaviour. The whole world recognizes the urgent global need of environmental education. It directly influences affecting the human life and development of man and other living organism.2

 

Need of Environment education:-

 

Guiding principle of environmental education.

Environment is totally-as Natural, artificial, technological, social, economic, political moral, cultural, historical, and aesthetical it continues the life process, and all parts of study approach environmental education is examine part of major environmental issues from local national, regional and international scenario and to focus on current, potential situation.3

 

Environmental sensitivity, knowledge, problem solving and values clarification of grade level.   

 

Environmental education guides to discover the symptom and the real causes of environmental problems and environmental aspects in plans for growth and development of nation.     

 

SUGGESTION AND CONCLUSION:

Follow Perott (1965) : happening, given 2-3 hrs period - to a class individual, investigation - while organise by a teacher for whole class and can play on important role in stimulating the recall of factual information in providing training in the application of knowledge and in the development of problem solving techniques.

 

Teachers should use a variety of different teaching, and learning style Discussions that follow activity and descriptive approach involves in man environmental issue and ecology balance.4

 

Three Guiding Principle  

Three E+E+E: -

New man guideline programme in the year 1981 are as follows : -

1.     Environmental studies: -

Environmental disturbance and minimisation effect through the change in society are social science is concerned with social changes.

2.     Environmental Science: -

It deals with the study of the process in water, air soil, and all organism which leat to pollution or enviromental damages and also keeping clean, safe and health for human and natural ecosystem. physical and natural science.

3.     Environmental Engineering: -

Technical process to study environmental through engineering concurring all pollution related sectors.

 

Seminars Conferences:

1.     To develop environmental education - several seminars conferences suppose to organic at national and international level. On- "environmental subject" to recognize the urgent need for an introduction of environmental education.

2.     Help children to grow knowledge, skills, values, attitude - relevant with environment. Taught - every student since childhood about environmental studies" for effective field developments.

3.     Environmental education will lead to study of natural and physical science social science based on healthy leavings and has important role of improving  life and values.

Environmental education must permeate in to all facts of human life, food chains food web on ecological balance. E.E. help individuals in awareness and sensitivity to the total environment allied problems create awareness regarding renewable and non renewable resources of environment.

 

T.V. Newspaper, environmental education based programmes, radio, articles, many more component are most useful to develop learning skill regards environmental education.5

 

Environmental teaching method through charts, models, classroom projects. It is necessary to every youth and students to understand environmental pollutions.6
